Internal Dispute Erupts: B&T USA Sues Swiss Parent Company

A major legal battle has erupted within one of the firearms industry’s well-known brands, as B&T USA, LLC has filed a lawsuit against its own Swiss parent company, B&T AG, along with company president Karl Brügger.

The lawsuit, filed on March 17, 2026, in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, signals a serious internal conflict that could have broader implications for the company’s operations in the American market.

What the Lawsuit Alleges

According to the filing, B&T USA is accusing its parent company of:

  • Trademark infringement

  • Unauthorized use of the B&T brand within U.S. commerce

  • Attempting to seize control of the American entity’s management and intellectual property rights

  • Conducting unauthorized sales in the U.S. market

The lawsuit also names Namada Enterprises as a defendant alongside B&T AG and Brügger. At its core, the dispute centers on who controls the B&T name, operations, and business direction in the United States.

What B&T USA Is Seeking

B&T USA is asking the court for:

  • Injunctive relief to stop the alleged unauthorized actions

  • The destruction of infringing materials

  • Financial damages resulting from the alleged violations

These are not minor claims—this is a full-scale legal challenge over control, branding, and business authority in one of the world’s largest firearms markets.

Why This Matters

B&T (Brügger & Thomet) has built a strong reputation globally, particularly in the suppressor and tactical firearms space. The U.S. market is a critical part of that business. A dispute like this raises questions about distribution and supply chains, brand control and licensing, and future product availability in the U.S.

For dealers, distributors, and consumers, internal conflicts at this level can create uncertainty about how the brand operates moving forward.

Separate From Previous Legal Battles

It’s important to note this lawsuit is unrelated to a previous case in 2025, where B&T USA and B&T AG were aligned in a joint lawsuit against SureFire over suppressor patent issues. This new filing marks a shift from external legal battles to an internal power struggle.

At 2 If By Sea Tactical, we watch these industry developments closely because they matter beyond the courtroom. The firearms industry is already facing increasing regulatory pressure. Ongoing legal challenges from anti-gun jurisdictions. Supply chain and market uncertainties. When disputes arise within major manufacturers, it can ripple outward—affecting availability, pricing, and long-term stability in the market.

What Comes Next

This case is just getting started, and outcomes could range from a negotiated settlement to a prolonged legal fight over control of the U.S. arm of the company. Either way, it’s a situation worth watching. Because when internal battles reach this level, they don’t stay contained—they shape the future of the brands and products gun owners rely on.
