It takes a village to build a community, and if you've been to 2 If By Sea Tactical, you've likely been greeted by Dano. Today, we sit down with him and learn more about the store's general manager who is a cornerstone for the community.

Building Southern Minnesota Community at Work
Working officially since July 2025, he's been a part of the community for longer, and it's the people that make his work great. He loves the excitement of the people who come to the store and how everyone, staff and visitors, share and learn from one another.
"It's almost like car culture, where you might be a Ford guy or a Chevy guy. You might be a Colt guy or a Smith & Wessen guy, but... you all have at least a common thing, and you can share tidbits of information. So you can always learn, but you can always find out what people are super excited about. It's fun to see people light up when they talk about their passions."
He shares the same outlook when it comes to all the events coming up at the gun store. He's eager to be out a year from now and see what events are loved by the community and build upon the winners. But with over a dozen team members, the collaboration and creativity bring to life a lot of fun ideas that make 2 If By Sea a community resource.
Life on a Farm in Montgomery
He and his wife live on a farm in nearby Montgomery, Minnesota, and their neighbors make sure they keep up to date on local events.
"Our neighbors are very attuned to everything happening in the general area, the Le Sueur and Scott County area, so they're always letting us know 'oh, there's a car show in Kilkenny this weekend, there's this going on in Waterville.' So they're kind of our lifeline."
They try to take advantage of what events they can, but living on a farm, they always keep busy with the farm or their hobbies.
But they always make time for brunch at Fishtale Grill at least once a month.
Enjoying Minnesota Outdoors on the Road
When the weather's nice, they also like to take out their motorcycles and travel. Favorite get away spot? Duluth and the North Shore.
"Scenery. Kind of more sparsely populated, lots of woods, lots of scenery. Just breathing in different air."
The break helps him come back and be at the center of New Prague.
He and the whole staff are ready to help. There's never a stupid question, says Dano, and he's ready with whatever help they can offer.
