We here at 2 If By Sea Tactical, hope Mr. Cekada can help guide the Justice Department towards more pro-freedom arguments and support us gun owners and the 2nd Amendment.  He is given an unenviable task.  One that the ATF has repeatedly failed with deadly consequences.   We are praying we will be a voice of reason and help us seize on the window we have for this short period of time to roll back restrictions.   

When it comes to laws passed in government, rarely does the new year present change or deviation.  Especially when laws have been in the books for 91 years.  In 2026, this will be the exception to that rule.

So regardless how the Federal Supreme Court rules when it finally steps into the FRT case, they more than likely will continue ruling on Administrative Procedure Act grounds.  This will undoubtedly leave state restrictions, like the one in Minnesota, in effect.  The ultimate cure for states such as ours that is so heavily divided would be for the Supreme Court to take up and start ruling on the 2nd Amendment like they do the others.

The Founding Fathers understood what they were doing when they inserted the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution.  They had just successfully led an armed rebellion over the largest and best trained military the World had ever seen to that point.  They understood the implications, and dangers that such a stance would mean.  However, they deemed the rewards and values of Freedom were greater than any risks.

Whether it is because of the financial burden of defending oneself in court. Or press hit pieces that follow; or outright bans in states via the Governmental Gatekeepers in their prospective states, Glock has opened up everyone to lawsuits.  What may follow this decision could be dark for our industry and embolden those who want to see the 2nd Amendment erased entirely.  We must remain vigilant and pray that Glock’s decision had actual meaning and is only a blip on the radar.
