We were privileged to host Jackson and Mattea from Kato Living back at 2 If By Sea recently to share our experience as an option for Conceal & Carry classes in the Mankato area.

During the holidays, we all make time to share memories with our family and loved ones. It's important to make time for them all year, and many people ask themselves, "But how can I keep them safe?" If you're interested in self-defense, protecting your family, or simply making sure you're more at ease with a firearm, a Conceal & Carry class is a good option.

Press Coverage Launched With The New Location and Indoor Range

This wasn't the first visit from Jackson and Mattea.

When the new facility launched in May, 2 If By Sea was featured on both Twin Cities Live (ABC 5) and The Kate Living Show (KEYC News). The new indoor range facility drew attention from Southern Minnesota, and many people were invited to see how the 10,000 sq. ft. Historic Mill building had been transformed.

Since that time, owners and staff have continued to greet customers daily and engage with the greater Southern Minnesota community.

What's it like to take a conceal and carry class in Minnesota?

A major service that 2 If By Sea offers is its collection of training. There are groups for women, courses to improve in handguns and rifles, and -- as Jackson and Mattea experienced -- a Minnesota Permit to Carry course.

The course contains a classroom portion as well as live shooting on the gun range. Firearm safety is a primary concern both in the course and on the range.

As part of the course, we also review self-defense laws, permit reciprocity, and what to do after an incident.

All Inclusive Gun Range Experience at 2 If By Sea

Jackson, Mattea, and Austin demonstrate the range practice for the conceal & carry permit.

The course also reviews handgun operation and has an active range component. With the state-of-the-art indoor lanes, our class moves right from the classroom to the "test." You don't have to be a perfect shooter, but you have to demonstrate basic competency with gun handling and aiming. Classes are offered throughout the month: check out our upcoming events.

The indoor lanes are also open to the public. You can come in and rent a variety of firearms before you decide if you want to conceal & carry or even own a firearm. Our staff can help you find the right fit.
