Gun Control Rhetoric Emerges From Trump Administration After ICE Incident

Something that is becoming all to normal is Minnesota once again ending back in the national headlines.  On January 24^th, 2026 another Anti-ICE agitator was shot by federal agents, this time Border Patrol.  The individual died at the scene unfortunately.  2 If By Sea Tactical is not a political organization.  What we are is a staunch defender of 2^nd Amendment Rights.  We aim to serve our customers of all types and assist them in our store to exercise their rights. Whether this is through our machine gun rentals, purchasing, transferring, or ordering we are here to promote the 2nd Amendment where ever we can. This is something the Trump Administration cannot seem to get right. The continue to step on rakes and show they do not understand the 2nd Amendment even when they have facts on their side.

We wanted to respond to this on Youtube, but their anti-2A stance has on a posting ban for the next two weeks due to a strike that does not violate any policies.  This continues to show how anit-2A forces are still at work inside the United States and we have to remain vigilant.  In the meantime, please subscribe to our Rumble channel so we can continue to bring you news and updates on all things 2A.

Now when it comes to this latest shooting, we have thoughts on the shooting itself.  However, the Trump Administration’s response attempting to defend their immigration enforcement is widely off mark.  The person who lost his life was carrying a gun with two magazines.  We have heard in recent days from FBI Director Kash Patel, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, and Donald Trump himself how you cannot carry a “fully loaded” weapon to a protest.

              This is patently false. You absolutely can bring a loaded weapon anywhere in the United States as it is our birthright enshrined in the very Constitution that every politician swears to uphold.  We know just because they take that oath, they often fail to live up to it, often with little to no consequences for their actions.  President Trumps rhetoric here show his ignorance and lack of deep 2A support.

First to address the language of a “fully loaded” gun this is a ridiculous phrase.  Have you ever heard of someone having a partially loaded gun?  What good would that do the user?  As far as having two magazines on their body, this is beyond common.  I routinely have two or three extra magazines on my person just like my house does not have only one fire extinguisher.  What happens if you need more? 

              The second major issue here we need to address is the language that makes it seem like carrying a gun in public is a rare or shameful occurrence.  This is also false.  Millions of Americans do this every single day.  I work for a private security company, and we are hired frequently to do so.  The rules governing us are the same as any private citizen in society.  Carrying a firearm for ones own personal defense is a right given to us by God himself.  This means man cannot regulate, nor take away that which he has no authority over.

              One of the first articles we published here at 2 If By Sea was about the true meaning of the 2^nd Amendment.  Its actual meaning is not for private defense, but public defense.  What does this mean?  It simply means the 2^nd Amendment was enacted to give the citizens of the United States a means in which to fight off a tyrannical government.  Defense against individual crime is actually secondary to this purpose (but most certainly included).  The protester killed in this incident had every right to carry a firearm.

              Now the actions of the individual when it comes to carrying his firearm may not be lawful and that is where the Trump Administration should have put their defense.  They through all gun owners under the bus trying to defend their stances when they have a proper defense.  You can exercise a right we all can.  We cannot use that right to incite violence, or impede lawful enforcement of law.  That is where this protester went wrong.

              Despite this, it is extremely disturbing that the Administration immediately pivoted towards gun control arguments to defend themselves.  It shows possibly some of their predisposition and highlights that regardless of who is in charge, we most always be on guard to defend our rights.  The 2^nd Amendment exists for all humans regardless of political party, race, sex, color, or creed.  We must staunchly defend this regardless of which Administration is in charge. 

              There are some positive things that the Trump Administration have done in protecting 2A rights.  However, here are many examples of them defending gun control as well making them an uneven at best ally to the 2^nd Amendment.  This also means we must guard against people who are pro-gun control now taking a pro-2A stance.  They have not changed their positions either.  Do not get sucked into thinking that they are on our side as gun owners.  They simply will use what they need to maintain power.  Thus, is the lesson in all of this.

              We can never let our guard down.  We can never surrender ground or stop fighting.  The moment we do this is when more ground will be taken and more rights are lost.  We have seen what happens in the past when we take a step back instead of being staunch in our defense of rights.  Once rights are lost, it takes a massive amount of effort to even hope to gain them back.  We must continue to push this Administration to change course and fight them when they say or do the wrong thing just like we would any other.  We must be on the attack always, especially now as we have an opportunity to overturn nearly a century of gun rights that have been removed from us.
