While Shot Show offers the latest greatest things in the firearm world, it also offers Range Day where attendees and media can go and try out these new offerings. 2 If By Sea Tactical was lucky to get a chance to attend Range Day at Staccato for the first time in 2026. First off we have to brag about the facilities they have out there. What an amazing setup and day at Staccato. Of the many firearms we got to try out, one of them was not the firearm itself, but an upgrade you can do to your existing firearm. This was the Radian Ramjet + Afterburner upgrade that can be done on many common pistols.

We had an opportunity to shoot the Ramjet on Glocks 45 and19 Gen 6, Sig P365, and Canik Prime. First impressions are that the Ramjet is an upgrade well worth the money. It greatly reduces recoil while not affecting balance or adding too much in overall length. This last part is especially important when it comes to your everyday carry (EDC) firearms where concealability is the prime selling point.
One of the great advantages to upgrading your EDC is bringing down felt recoil. One of the great sacrifices one makes when adopting a smaller firearm is increased recoil to the shooter. This is due to the lack of mass and weight the firearm itself has to absorb the recoil. This is where the Ramjet and Afterburner come in to play. The Ramjet part of the system is the fluted barrel. The Afterburner part is the specially cut compensator designed to direct gases in the ideal directions to obtain maximum recoil reduction.

This is the areas where firearm technology is rapidly advancing. While actions have mostly achieved maximum innovation, recoil reduction is one of the next big leaps. We are continuing to see huge innovations in this field with different muzzle compensators and suppressors. Made popular by pop culture (like the John Wick franchise), compensated firearms are no longer just a feature found on Competitive Shooter’s guns. We are now seeing these devices come factory installed on various models.
While Glock, for example does offer a Compensated version of several of their variants, they do not offer the maximum reduction in recoil that the Ramjet does. When shooting this guns, it allowed for a quicker follow up shot which is vital in those critical self-defense related scenarios. Another thing we observed was the ease have the Ramjet system on your weapon for the shooters wrists. Range Day is a long day and we had an opportunity to fire a lot of different types of weaponry. This does, after awhile, put some physical stress on your wrist and hands after a long day at the range. We shot the Ramjet System at the end of the day and it made the shooting such a pleasure.

We highly recommend upgrading your EDC or even your range gun with Radians Ramjet + Afterburner systems. This is something we here at 2 If By Sea Tactical can order for you and install on your firearm. Radian is continuing to offer this in new models all the time and we are excited to see their list of guns that can be upgraded grow!
