Springfield Armory is finally entering the Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) world with their Kuna.  While this was announced before Shot Show in the fall of 2025, we here at 2 If By Sea Tactical got an opportunity to look up close and personal with one when visiting the Springfield Armory booth in Las Vegas.  The Kuna is a nice, lightweight and compact PCC much in line with the CZ Scorpion or Grand Power’s Stribog.

The Kuna is a sleek looking weapon platform.  Its operating system is more H&K like than it is CZ’s.  It features a roller delayed system as opposed to a straight blowback system to you find on most PCCs.  This offers greater control and helps when you suppress the firearm.  The Kuna is made in partnership with HS Produkt in Croatia much like many of the offerings from Springfield.  It joins the Hellcat, Echelon, XD models, and Hellion to name a few of the firearms that Springfield Imports from them.

Just because these firearms are predominantly made outside the US, does not mean that they always suffer in quality.  The Echelon and Hellcat especially have developed a reputation for being highly reliable firearms and the Kuna is no exception.  This is exciting to see Springfield enter the world of PCCs.  With the SBR tax stamp going to $0, these types of firearms are going to become more prevalent than they already are.

Springfield Armory's new Kuna Pistol

The Kuna is designed to fit in a backpack and pack a lot of firepower in a small package as they come with two 30-round magazines.  The major benefit with this platform, however, is that it is suppressor ready.  Built with the surge in suppressor sales in mind, this system will run accurately and most importantly quietly on the market.  This is a huge benefit to the end user that is looking to maximize their 9MM suppressor by pairing it with a system that was built for it.

The feel of the gun is its own unique fell.  It is well balanced and the grip angle is in line with the Hellcat in terms of feel.  It has M-Lok opening in front of the gun to allow for the litany of attachment options on the market today, and the top cover is picatinny.  Springfield will offer this in a braced and unbraced pistol format.  The braced pistol format will have a side-folding brace from Strike Industries.  However, the rear section is picatinny allowing for compatibility with several different brace manufacturers on the market today.

2 If By Sea Tactical is proud to bring items like the Kuna to Southern Minnesota.  We look forward to featuring this on our sales floor and cancan take pre-orders for this platform.  This makes an excellent PCC and backpack or truck gun.  It is lightweight, collapsable and easy to conceal in a bag or under a seat.  This allows you to take it with you wherever you may be going.  After having an opportunity to hold and examine the Kuna in person, we can say HS Produkt and Springfield did a great job designing this PCC.  Be sure to check us out on Rumble and Youtube at Shot Show 2026 featuring this firearm.
